The FIRE-LITE W-SD355-WHITE is a SWIFT wireless fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise heat detector designed for fire alarm systems where running wired devices is impractical or unsafe. Operating on a Class A mesh network, this detector communicates wirelessly with compatible Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs), eliminating the need to route wire through concrete walls, buried conduit, or materials such as asbestos. The white housing suits standard ceiling and wall installations where aesthetics matter. Licensed fire alarm technicians install this device as part of a mixed or fully wireless detection layout.
This detector is suited for residential and commercial applications where traditional wired installation presents structural, cost, or hazard barriers. Surface-mount conduit runs and core drilling through concrete are common reasons to specify SWIFT wireless devices. Because the SWIFT system supports both wired and wireless devices on the same FACP simultaneously, this detector can be introduced into an existing wired system without replacing the panel or the rest of the detection network, making it practical for retrofits, additions, and phased installations.
Designed for use with Fire Alarm Control Panels that support the SWIFT wireless mesh network. Replaces model W-SD355. Compatible with systems that integrate both wired and wireless detectors on the same FACP.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Power down or place the FACP in test mode before adding or replacing wireless devices on the network. Do not install in environments outside the detector's rated temperature or humidity range as specified in the manufacturer's installation manual. Verify mesh network signal strength and perform a full system function test after installation.
