This unit serves as an external console, extending the operator interface to various remote locations within a building. The ECC-RM is enclosed in a sturdy cabinet, equipped with either a keyed lock or optional thumb lock to restrict access to authorized personnel.

The ECC-RM supports ALL CALL paging through its push-to-talk switch, allowing effective communication within fire protection systems. It requires connections for an external data bus, audio riser, and operator interface power supply (twenty-four volts DC) from the main ECC console.
