The FERNCO INC P1056-44 is a flexible pipe coupling designed to join 4-inch pipe to 4-inch pipe in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems. It accommodates transitions between cast iron and plastic pipe, or same-material connections of either type. Two stainless steel clamps are included and provide a secure, leak-resistant seal without the need for special tools or adhesives. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this coupling in residential and light commercial applications where rigid joining methods are impractical or where pipe alignment is slightly off-center.

This coupling is suited for below-grade, in-wall, and exposed DWV piping. It performs well in renovation and repair scenarios where sections of existing cast iron drain lines are being tied into new PVC or ABS runs. The flexible shear ring design absorbs minor pipe movement and vibration, which is common in older structures. It is also used in new construction where mixed-material pipe systems are specified.

Installation Notes
