The FERNCO 107044 is a flexible PVC coupling designed to connect 4-inch corrugated polyethylene pipe to smooth-wall plastic pipe in storm and sub-soil drainage applications. The coupling uses a shear band and clamp system to create a leak-resistant, flexible joint between dissimilar pipe materials. Manufactured in the USA, the 107044 is an OEM-style field solution for plumbers, irrigation contractors, and drainage installers who need a reliable transition fitting without solvent welding or special tools.
This coupling is suited for storm drainage, sub-soil drainage, farm irrigation, golf course drainage, and residential drainage systems where corrugated polyethylene drainage pipe connects to Schedule 40 or DWV plastic pipe. It is commonly installed at the transition point between underground corrugated runs and solid-wall PVC risers, catch basins, or cleanout assemblies. The flexible sleeve design accommodates minor angular deflection and pipe misalignment in the field.
Designed for use with ADS Hancor corrugated polyethylene drainage pipe and standard SD or DWV plastic pipe, 4-inch nominal size. Suitable for corrugated polyethylene drainage and irrigation systems transitioning to solid-wall plastic pipe.
Installation is performed by plumbers and drainage contractors following applicable local plumbing and site drainage codes. Clean and deburr pipe ends before seating them fully into the coupling sleeve. Tighten shear band clamps evenly to ensure uniform compression around the pipe circumference. Do not over-tighten clamps on thin-wall corrugated pipe; follow the coupling manufacturer torque guidance if provided on the packaging.
