The FERNCO 1056-22 2" is a flexible PVC coupling designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. It creates a leak-proof seal between pipe sections using a shear ring and stainless steel clamps, accommodating minor misalignment and dimensional variation in the field. This coupling is rated for 2-inch pipe connections and is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and drain contractors install this fitting where rigid couplings are impractical or where pipe materials differ at the joint.
This coupling is used in DWV applications including drain line repairs, new construction rough-in, and retrofit connections. Its flexible PVC body conforms to pipe surfaces across a range of pipe materials, making it a go-to solution when transitioning between cast iron, clay, ABS, PVC, or concrete pipe sections. It is clearly marked with part number, size, and compatible pipe material for quick identification in the field.

Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local jurisdictional requirements. Ensure pipe ends are clean, deburred, and free of sharp edges before seating the coupling. Tighten stainless steel clamp bands evenly to the manufacturer torque specification printed on the coupling body. Do not over-torque the clamps, as this can distort the flexible sleeve and compromise the seal.
