The FANTECH 89052 is an inline radon mitigation fan designed to maintain negative pressure beneath a building slab or membrane, drawing radon gas up through a vent stack and exhausting it safely above the roofline. Rated at 166 CFM and 58 watts, this fan operates on 120 VAC at 60 Hz and spins at 2533 RPM. The plastic housing resists moisture and corrosion, making it well-suited for the damp sub-slab and crawl space environments where radon mitigation systems are commonly routed. The 4-inch inlet and 4-inch outlet connect directly to standard 4-inch PVC vent pipe. Licensed radon mitigation contractors and HVAC professionals are the primary installers.
The 89052 is intended for sub-slab depressurization (SSD) systems in residential and light-commercial applications. It fits inline within a vertical or horizontal PVC vent run, typically installed in a basement, crawl space, garage, or exterior wall chase. The fan is rated to 140 degrees F, which provides adequate thermal tolerance for attic routing in most climates. With a 0.484-amp draw, it is well within the capacity of a standard 15-amp dedicated circuit or a shared radon-system circuit as allowed by local code.
Designed as an inline replacement or new-installation fan for 4-inch PVC sub-slab depressurization radon mitigation systems in residential and light-commercial construction.
Installation should be performed by a certified radon mitigation contractor or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with EPA guidance document EPA 625/R-93/011 and applicable local codes. Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing or replacing an existing fan. The fan must be mounted so that exhaust discharges outdoors above the eave line and away from windows, doors, and HVAC intakes. Do not install in a location where condensate cannot drain freely from the housing.
