The FAIRLANE HS-101-C is a square positioning gripper designed to locate and hold workpieces securely during machining, fixturing, and assembly operations. Measuring 1 inch square and 1/2 inch high, this gripper features diamond serrations in a fine tooth grade pattern that bite into workpiece surfaces to resist slipping under load. The counterbored mounting hole accepts a 1/4-inch SHCS and is bored to a 5/16-inch counterbore depth, keeping the fastener head below the seating surface. Constructed from high speed steel with a black oxide finish, the HS-101-C delivers hardness and wear resistance appropriate for demanding production environments. A 0.03 x 45-degree chamfer is machined on the face.
This positioning gripper is suited for use in workholding fixtures, jigs, and modular tooling setups found in machine shops, manufacturing cells, and precision assembly lines. It mounts from the front and is oriented square to provide repeatable part registration across high-volume runs. The fine tooth diamond serration pattern is well matched to applications requiring positive grip on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials without aggressive surface damage. Machinists, fixture builders, and tooling engineers are the primary installers of this component.
Designed for use in front-mount fixturing and workholding applications requiring a 1-inch square positioning gripper with a counterbored 1/4-inch SHCS mounting hole. Verify bore size, counterbore depth, and overall height against fixture drawings before installation.
Installation is typically performed by fixture builders or machinist-level technicians. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and flat before seating the gripper to maintain positional accuracy. Torque the SHCS fastener per the fastener manufacturer specification for the thread size and material being used. Do not overtighten, as deformation of the counterbore can affect seating and registration.
