The FAIRLANE HS-101-C-EF is a square positioning gripper designed to locate and hold workpieces securely during machining, fixturing, and assembly operations. Manufactured from high speed steel with a black oxide finish, this gripper measures 1 inch square and 1/2 inch high. It features diamond serrations in an extra fine tooth grade that bite into workpiece surfaces to prevent movement under load. The counterbored center accepts a 1/4-inch SHCS and includes a 5/16-inch counterbore depth. A 0.03 x 45-degree chamfer is machined on the gripper face. This component is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and fixture engineers working in precision manufacturing environments.
This gripper is suited for front-mount applications in workholding fixtures, modular tooling plates, and precision jigs where consistent part location and resistance to lateral shifting are required. The extra fine diamond serration pattern is appropriate for applications demanding maximum grip force on finished or semi-finished surfaces. The black oxide finish provides moderate corrosion resistance for shop environments. The square profile allows straightforward orientation and repeatable positioning in mating counterbored seats.
Designed as a front-mount square positioning gripper for use in precision workholding fixtures, tooling plates, and modular jig systems that accept a 1-inch square gripper seat with a counterbored SHCS mounting configuration.
Installation is typically performed by machinists or fixture engineers using standard hex key tooling to drive the SHCS through the counterbored center. Ensure the mating fixture seat is clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the gripper to maintain accurate positioning. Do not exceed the clamp load rating of the mating fixture structure. Verify workpiece surface condition is compatible with diamond serration contact before applying clamping force to avoid unintended surface marking.
