The FAIRLANE HS-0515 is a fully threaded adjustable positioning gripper designed for precise workholding and fixturing applications. Built from high speed steel with a black oxide finish, this gripper uses a fine serrated tooth pattern to firmly engage and hold workpieces in position without permanent marking. The 1/2-13 thread size and 1.5-inch thread length provide a broad adjustment range along the stud axis, allowing the gripper to be positioned at variable depths to accommodate different workpiece thicknesses and fixture configurations. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders use this style of gripper in jigs, fixtures, and clamping setups where repeatable, adjustable contact is required.
The HS-0515 is suited for use in machine shop, production, and assembly fixture environments where workpieces require secure, adjustable holding during machining or inspection. The fully threaded body allows continuous positioning along the full thread length, giving setup technicians flexibility when building or adjusting fixtures to accommodate varying part geometries. The 3/16-inch internal hex drive allows installation and adjustment using a standard hex key, making it straightforward to torque into position within a fixture plate or threaded block.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for adjustable positioning gripper applications using 1/2-13 threaded fixture plates and tooling blocks.
Installation is typically performed by machinists or toolmakers during fixture assembly or adjustment. Thread the gripper into a 1/2-13 tapped hole in the fixture plate and position it to the required depth using a 3/16-inch hex key. Ensure the fixture assembly is secured and the workpiece is not under load before adjusting gripper position. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and workholding best practices when building or modifying fixtures.
