The FAIRLANE FSC-875 is a square positioning gripper designed to securely locate and hold workpieces during machining, assembly, or fixturing operations. Built from solid carbide, this gripper delivers exceptional hardness and wear resistance in demanding production environments. The FSC-875 measures 0.5 inches square and 0.5 inches high, with a 10-32 threaded back mount for straightforward installation into fixture plates and tooling blocks. A fine tooth grade diamond serration pattern on the gripping face bites into workpiece surfaces to prevent movement and maintain repeatable positioning. A 0.03 x 45-degree chamfer is incorporated into the design for clean engagement. This component is typically installed by tool-and-die makers, CNC machinists, and fixture builders.
The FSC-875 square positioning gripper is suited for use in precision fixturing applications across manufacturing environments where consistent part location is critical. It is appropriate for use in jigs, fixtures, and workholding assemblies in both light and heavy production settings. The back mount configuration allows it to be threaded directly into a tapped hole in a fixture plate, making it a straightforward component in custom tooling builds. Its compact 0.5 inch square footprint allows placement in tight fixture layouts where space is limited.
Designed as an OEM-style positioning component for use in precision fixturing, jig, and workholding assemblies that accept a 10-32 threaded back mount gripper insert.
Installation is performed by machinists or fixture builders using standard hand tools to thread the gripper into a pre-tapped 10-32 hole in the fixture plate. Ensure the fixture plate or tooling block is de-energized and stationary before installing or replacing gripper components. Do not overtighten, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to fracture under excessive clamping force. Inspect the serration face periodically for wear or chipping and replace when gripping performance degrades.
