With a 27/64-inch cutting diameter and a 2-inch cutting depth, it removes only a slug of material rather than a solid core, reducing cutting force and heat compared to standard twist drills. The Weldon-style shank with a 3/4-inch connection size provides secure chuck engagement and positive torque transfer. A pilot pin is included to keep the cutter centered during entry. This cutter is installed by licensed electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors working on steel plate, structural members, and enclosures.

The CC27/64L is suited for use in magnetic drill presses and drill press stands configured for Weldon-shank tooling.
