The EVOLUTION POWER TOOLS CC106 is a high speed steel (HSS) annular cutter designed for fast, clean through-holes in structural steel, mild steel plate, and similar ferrous materials. With a 1-1/16 inch cutting diameter and 1 inch cutting depth, this cutter removes only a core of material rather than reducing the full cross-section to chips, which reduces heat buildup and extends tool life compared to standard twist drills. The Weldon-style shank with a 3/4 inch connection size locks securely into compatible magnetic drill press arbors. A pilot pin is included to center the cutter and prevent walking at the start of the cut. Weighing 0.6 pounds, it is a compact tool suited for ironworkers, steel fabricators, and structural contractors.
This annular cutter is used in steel fabrication shops, structural ironwork, and on-site metal construction where repeatable, burr-minimized holes are required in steel members, plate, or beam flanges. Typical applications include bolt-hole patterns in structural steel, pipe flange drilling, and any layout requiring consistent large-diameter holes without pilot drilling. The 1-1/16 inch diameter is a common size for standard bolt clearance holes in structural work. Installation is performed by qualified metalworking trades using a magnetic drill press or drill press with a compatible 3/4 inch Weldon arbor.
Designed for use with magnetic drill presses and drill press arbors equipped with a 3/4 inch Weldon-style chuck. Suitable for cutting mild steel and structural steel within the 1 inch cutting depth capacity of the tool.
This cutter is installed by metalworking tradespeople using a magnetic drill press with a matching 3/4 inch Weldon arbor. Before mounting, confirm the drill press is powered off and the magnetic base is disengaged. Apply cutting fluid to the workpiece during operation to manage heat and extend cutter life. Inspect the pilot pin for proper seating before each use and never force the cutter through material that exceeds its rated 1 inch cutting depth.
