The ESAB 693000127 is a round ceramic weld backing designed to support single-sided welding operations by providing a stable, heat-resistant backing surface at the root of the weld joint. Each piece measures 1 inch in length with a 3/8 inch diameter. Ceramic backing eliminates the need for back-gouging and back-welding on many joint configurations, reducing labor time and improving root pass consistency. This product is used by certified welders and welding contractors across structural, fabrication, and pipe welding applications where access to the back side of the joint is limited or impossible.
