The ERGODYNE 21309 is a Class 2 economy high-visibility safety vest designed for workers in moderate-traffic environments where ANSI-compliant visibility is required. Constructed from lightweight polyester mesh fabric at approximately 3.3 ounces, this vest provides breathability during extended wear. A zipper front closure allows for quick donning and doffing. Two ANSI-certified retroreflective tape strips are set on a 4.5-inch contrasting color background, meeting Class 2 visibility requirements. The two-tone orange and lime color configuration supports both reflective performance and daytime conspicuity. Safety managers, contractors, and site supervisors commonly stock this vest for general labor and traffic control applications.
This vest is sized for 4XL/5XL wearers and fits over standard work clothing or light outerwear. The mesh construction makes it suitable for warm-weather outdoor jobsites, road construction crews, warehouse environments, and utility work zones where ANSI/ISEA 107 Class 2 compliance is mandated. One interior pocket provides a minimal storage option for small items. The economy design is well-suited for high-turnover environments or large crews where cost-per-unit matters.
Designed as an ANSI/ISEA 107 Class 2 compliant high-visibility vest for general safety and traffic control applications requiring economy-grade personal protective equipment.
No tools are required to don this vest. Verify that the vest fits properly over all layers of work clothing before entering a work zone, as improper fit can reduce retroreflective tape performance. Inspect tape and fabric for damage before each use and replace the vest if reflective tape shows significant delamination or soiling that reduces visibility. Compliance with applicable federal, state, or local PPE regulations - including MUTCD and OSHA 1926.201 where applicable - is the responsibility of the employer and safety officer.
