The ERGODYNE 12596 is an evaporative cooling hard hat neck shade with a built-in PVA cooling towel, designed for outdoor workers exposed to heat and direct sun. The PVA material activates when run under water for one minute, then delivers evaporative cooling for up to 4 hours. The shade portion extends below the hard hat to block UV rays from the neck and upper back. Hook-and-loop closures attach directly to the hard hat suspension headband, making installation and removal fast without tools. Construction workers, utility crews, roofers, and other trades working in direct sun use this shade to manage heat stress during extended outdoor shifts.

This neck shade is suited for residential and commercial jobsites where workers wear Type I or Type II hard hats with standard suspension systems. Installation Notes

Installation does not require tools. Thread or press the hook-and-loop closures through and around the hard hat suspension headband before putting the hard hat on. Soak the PVA cooling towel section under running water for one minute before use to activate evaporative cooling. Remove the shade and allow it to dry fully before long-term storage to prevent mildew.
