The EMUGE TA219744.0820 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from sub-micrograin carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, it delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in demanding drilling applications. The 140-degree self-centering point reduces thrust and eliminates the need for a center-punch operation on most setups. A web-thinned, tapered web geometry improves chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces at entry. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed-rate strategies in CNC machining environments. This drill is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and precision manufacturing personnel.
This drill fits production and job-shop CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-axis machining cells where consistent bore quality is required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and straight-cylindrical shank suit standard ER collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders. The universal material grade designation makes it appropriate for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. The double-margin geometry provides bore straightness and surface finish quality in through-hole and blind-hole applications conforming to DIN 6537 L standards.
Designed as an OEM-compatible replacement and standard production drill for CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting straight-cylindrical shank tooling in the 10.00 mm shank diameter range, conforming to DIN 6537 L specification, Series TA219744.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists following standard toolholding procedures for straight-cylindrical shank drills. Ensure the spindle and coolant supply are fully shut down before loading or changing tooling. Verify collet or chuck runout is within acceptable tolerance before use, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce bore quality. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety codes when programming feed rates and spindle speeds for the target workpiece material.
