The EMUGE GFR15106.5013 is a helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal 1/2-13 UNC threads in a CNC machining environment. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiCN coating, this tool delivers consistent thread form and extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3-flute, right-hand cutting geometry produces a clean thread profile in a single helical pass. The cutting diameter measures 0.3710 inches with a length of cut of 1.0360 inches, making it well suited for through and blind-hole thread milling applications where a tap would be impractical or where one tool must cover a range of hole sizes.
This thread mill is used in production and job-shop CNC milling operations requiring precise internal UNC threads at the 1/2-13 pitch. It is suited for machining centers running rigid CNC programs with helical interpolation. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 1-9/16-inch shank length accommodate standard ER collet chucks and shrink-fit toolholders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Machinists working in aerospace, mold and die, general metalworking, and maintenance machining will find this tool appropriate for both prototype and production runs.
Designed for CNC machining centers using helical interpolation to produce internal 1/2-13 UNC threads; compatible with standard 3/8-inch ER collet chucks and shrink-fit toolholding systems.
Installation of this thread mill requires a CNC machining center capable of helical interpolation; it is not intended for manual or tapping-head use. Secure the 3/8-inch shank in a properly sized and balanced toolholder, verifying runout before cutting. Program the helical interpolation cycle to match the 1/2-13 UNC pitch and confirm climb versus conventional milling direction based on material and setup rigidity. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate against the tool manufacturer recommendations for the specific workpiece material before cutting.
