The EMUGE CU513700.5050 is a spiral flute bottoming tap designed for blind hole threading in a wide range of demanding materials. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), it delivers hardness and lubricity for threading in stainless steel, titanium alloy, nickel alloy, heat-treated steel, and other high-alloy materials. It features 5 flutes with a fast flute style and a 45-degree helix angle, which efficiently evacuates chips upward out of blind holes. The 3/4-16 UNF thread form cuts to a 2B class of fit. Overall length is 4.331 inches with a thread length of 0.669 inches.
This tap is suited for precision machining environments where blind hole access requires a bottoming chamfer to maximize thread engagement depth. Typical applications include aerospace and industrial fabrication work involving acid-resistant steel, structural steel, free-cutting steel, steel castings, high-alloy steel castings, aluminum alloy, nickel, nickel alloy, tool steel, and titanium alloy. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand thread orientation are standard for most conventional CNC and manual tapping setups. It belongs to the EMUGE Enorm Z series, engineered for performance in difficult-to-machine materials.
Designed for blind hole threading in acid-resistant steel, aluminum alloy, free-cutting steel, heat-treated material, heat-treated steel, high-alloy steel castings, nickel, nickel alloy, stainless steel, steel castings, structural steel, titanium alloy, and tool steel. Part of the EMUGE Enorm Z series.
This tap is installed by a machinist or tooling technician in a CNC machining center or manual tapping fixture. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is properly aligned before engaging the tap to avoid thread damage or tool breakage. Coolant-through is not supported on this tap; use appropriate cutting fluid applied externally when threading difficult materials. Follow shop safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
