The EMUGE CU501000.5018 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting internal threads in blind hole applications. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this tap handles both non-ferrous metals and steel. It cuts a 1-8 UNC right-hand thread to a 2B class of fit, with a modified bottoming chamfer that allows threading closer to the bottom of a blind hole than a standard plug tap. The 35-degree helix angle evacuates chips upward, keeping the flutes clear during the cut. Four flutes provide good chip capacity and stable cutting action across a range of materials.

This tap is suited for machining and fabrication environments where 1-8 UNC threaded blind holes are required in steel or non-ferrous workpieces. The modified bottoming chamfer makes it a practical choice when full thread depth near the bottom of a hole is needed. Part of the EMUGE Enorm series, it is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual tapping operations where consistent thread quality and tool longevity are priorities. Coolant-through is not supported on this tap.
