The EMUGE C0513700.0116 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting M16 x 2.00 metric internal threads in blind-hole applications. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this bottoming tap produces threads to a 6H class of fit, delivering close-tolerance results suitable for precision assemblies. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation up and out of the hole during tapping. With an overall length of 4.3307 inches and a thread length of 0.8661 inches, the tool is sized for production and maintenance environments where controlled thread depth is critical. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This tap is rated for use in aluminum alloy, copper, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel. Its fast-flute spiral geometry makes it well suited for CNC machining centers and manual tapping operations where chip packing in blind holes is a concern. The bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind bore, making it a go-to choice for fixture plates, structural weldments, and precision machine components requiring full thread engagement near the hole bottom. It belongs to the EMUGE Enorm series, which targets general-purpose and demanding production tapping.
Designed for tapping M16 x 2.00 metric blind holes in aluminum alloy, copper, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. Suitable for use in manual tapping handles, tapping heads, and CNC rigid-tapping setups with a 12.00 mm (0.4724 inch) round shank. No coolant-through capability.
This tap should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with tapping feeds, speeds, and cutting fluid selection for the workpiece material. Always ensure the spindle is stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Use appropriate cutting oil or tapping fluid for the material being threaded - stainless steel and steel require a higher-viscosity lubricant than aluminum or copper alloys. Verify that the pre-drill hole diameter matches the recommended tap drill size for M16 x 2.00 before beginning the tapping operation.
