The EMUGE C050C400.0116 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting internal M16x2.00 metric threads in a wide range of materials. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a GLT-1 coating, it handles demanding applications including stainless steel, aluminum alloy, copper, and copper alloys. The 45-degree helix angle drives chips up and out of the hole, making this tap well-suited for blind-hole work where chip evacuation is critical. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind bore. With an overall length of 4.3307 inches (110 mm) and a thread length of 0.8661 inches (22 mm), it fits standard tap holders for M16 tooling.
This tap is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and tapping machines where controlled feed tapping is performed. The 6H class of fit produces a standard tolerance internal thread suitable for general fastener applications. It is rated for use in aluminum alloy, copper, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel. The Enorm series is designed for high-performance production tapping, and the fast-flute geometry supports efficient chip flow at elevated feeds. Machining professionals and tool-and-die tradespeople are the primary users in both job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in standard M16 tap holders and collet chucks compatible with a 12 mm shank diameter. Suitable for tapping aluminum alloy, copper, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel workpieces requiring M16x2.00 metric threads to a 6H class of fit.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the tap in a rigid, properly sized tap holder or collet rated for the shank diameter before operation. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Use the correct cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material, and verify spindle speed and feed rate against the manufacturer's tapping chart for the material being cut.
