The EMUGE C0459601.0112 is a spiral flute tap designed for blind hole threading in metric applications. It carries an M12x1.75 thread size with a modified bottoming chamfer, making it well-suited for threading close to the bottom of a blind hole without sacrificing thread engagement. The tap is manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, which increases surface hardness and reduces heat buildup during cutting. With 3 right-hand flutes in a slow-helix configuration at a 15-degree helix angle, it provides controlled chip evacuation in a variety of workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom professionals working with production or job-shop threading operations are the primary users of this tap.
This tap is engineered for blind hole threading in steel, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys including titanium alloy. The slow spiral flute geometry and TiCN coating make it particularly effective in tougher workpiece materials where heat and tool wear are primary concerns. It belongs to the EMUGE Rekord D series, a line developed for demanding threading applications across a range of material groups. The 6HX class of fit delivers a tight tolerance thread suitable for precision assemblies. Overall length is 110 millimeters with a 24 millimeter thread length, accommodating standard blind hole depths for M12 applications.
Designed for blind hole threading in steel, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys including titanium alloy. Material application codes P, M, N, and S are supported per the supplier specification.
This tap is installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, or CNC operators on drill presses, CNC machining centers, or tapping machines. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the pre-drilled hole diameter matches the correct tap drill size for M12x1.75 before starting. Coolant through is not supported on this tap, so apply cutting fluid externally and clear chips periodically to prevent tap breakage in blind holes. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when threading cobalt taps in hardened or high-temperature alloy materials.
