The EMUGE BU599010.5041 is a thread forming tap designed for cold-forming internal threads in ductile materials without cutting chips. Built from High-Speed Steel-E (cobalt-grade HSS) and coated with TiCN for extended tool life, this tap produces a 10-32 UNF thread to a 3BX class of fit. The bottoming chamfer with 1.5 to 2 thread leads allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes. Overall length is 2.756 inches with a thread length of 0.591 inches and a tapping depth of 0.984 inches. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical trades as well as precision fabricators will encounter this tap in production and repair threading applications.
This tap is suited for blind hole threading in steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals. The form-tap (chipless) design is especially effective in materials with sufficient ductility to flow under the tap's lobes rather than shear. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and the InnoForm 1-MULTI/E-SN-TiCN series construction support use in both manual and CNC tapping operations. Right-hand thread direction, 10-32 UNF sizing, and a 3BX class of fit make it a common choice for precision assemblies in mechanical, electrical enclosure, and light structural fabrication work.
Designed for blind hole threading in steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals with sufficient ductility for cold forming. Suitable for use in manual tapping handles and CNC tapping centers capable of rigid or synchronous tapping at the 10-32 UNF thread size.
Thread forming taps require a properly sized forming tap drill hole, which is larger than a standard cut-tap drill hole for the same thread size - consult the tap manufacturer's drill chart before drilling. Apply appropriate tapping fluid or cutting oil rated for the workpiece material before and during tapping. On CNC equipment, use rigid (synchronous) tapping mode and verify spindle speed and feed rate match the manufacturer's recommendation for the material. Always de-energize and lock out any powered equipment before performing threading operations on installed assemblies.
