The EMUGE BU499300.0100 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading in metric M10x1.50 applications. Built from HSS-E cobalt steel and finished with a TiCN coating, this tap delivers extended tool life in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the cut, making it well suited for through-hole operations where chip evacuation is critical. With a 3-flute plug chamfer configuration and a 6H class of fit, it produces precise metric threads that meet standard tolerance requirements. Overall length is 3.94 inches and thread length is 0.87 inches.
This tap is intended for through-hole threading in production and maintenance machining environments. Typical applications include threading structural steel components, stainless steel fittings, cast iron housings, and non-ferrous assemblies where a consistent M10x1.50 metric thread is required. The plug chamfer provides a gradual lead-in that distributes cutting load across multiple teeth, making it a reliable choice for both CNC tapping centers and manual drill press setups where controlled feed rates can be maintained.
Designed for through-hole threading in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals requiring an M10x1.50 metric thread at a 6H class of fit. Compatible with standard tap holders and CNC tapping chucks sized for a 9.68 mm shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is properly aligned before beginning the tapping cycle. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to reduce heat buildup and extend tap life. Avoid reversing the tap under power without confirming the machine cycle is set for standard right-hand operation.
