The EMUGE BU456011.5003 is a spiral flute tap designed for threading blind holes in titanium and other difficult-to-machine materials. It cuts a 4-40 UNC right-hand thread with a modified bottoming chamfer, allowing the tap to reach close to the bottom of a blind hole. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with an oxide coating, it is engineered for durability under the elevated cutting temperatures common in titanium work. The 2-flute, slow-helix spiral design at 15 degrees ejects chips upward out of the hole. Overall length is 2.205 inches, with a thread length of 0.433 inches and a tapping depth of 0.709 inches.

This tap is intended for precision blind hole threading in a 3BX class of fit, which accommodates the slight oversize needed when tapping titanium alloys. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual tapping applications where tight thread tolerances in small-diameter holes are required. The Rekord D-Ti series is developed specifically for titanium machining applications in aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments. Coolant-through is not supported on this model.
