The EMUGE B3159401.0080 is a 3-flute straight flute machine tap designed to cut M8x1.25 metric coarse internal threads in production and job-shop environments. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding tapping applications. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes. Overall length is 90 millimeters, with a 20-millimeter thread length and an 8-millimeter shank diameter. This tap is part of the EMUGE Rekord A series, engineered for consistent performance in machine tapping operations.
This tap is suited for machine tapping in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and tapping arms across residential shop, commercial, and industrial settings. It is rated for use in aluminum alloys, cast iron, and copper alloys, making it a versatile option where multiple workpiece materials are encountered on a single line. The right-hand thread direction and 6HX class of fit meet standard metric tolerances for general-purpose threaded assemblies. Machinists, toolroom techs, and production operators working in metal fabrication will find this tap appropriate for through-hole and near-bottom blind-hole applications.
Rated for use in aluminum alloys, cast iron, and copper alloys per manufacturer specification. Designed for M8x1.25 metric coarse thread applications with a 6HX class of fit.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist using appropriate tapping fluid or cutting oil for the workpiece material. Ensure the tap is properly aligned with the drilled hole before engaging the machine spindle to prevent tap breakage or thread distortion. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing or inspecting tooling. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine OEM guidelines for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
