The EMUGE AU203000.0080 is a spiral point plug tap designed for cutting M8 x 1.25 metric coarse internal threads in both through-hole and blind-hole applications. Built from HSS-E cobalt steel and finished with a nitride (NT) coating, this tap delivers added heat and wear resistance in demanding production environments. It carries a 3-flute spiral point geometry that pushes chips ahead of the cutting edge, keeping the flutes clear during the threading pass. Overall length is 2.719 inches with a thread length of 0.787 inches and a shank diameter of 0.318 inches. Intended for installation by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working in metal fabrication shops.
This tap is suited for threading steel and non-ferrous metals in manufacturing, maintenance, and repair operations. Its plug chamfer style makes it appropriate as a starter tap in through-hole applications and usable in blind holes where sufficient thread runout is available. The 6H tolerance class (equivalent to 2B fit) is the standard for general-purpose metric fastener threads and is widely specified in OEM and MRO work. With a neck length of 13.00 mm and a square drive size of 6.05 mm, it is compatible with standard tap wrenches and machine spindle adapters for both hand and CNC tapping operations.
Designed for cutting M8 x 1.25 metric coarse right-hand internal threads in through-hole and blind-hole configurations in steel and non-ferrous metal workpieces. Part of the EMUGE Rekord B series AU203000.
This tap should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with threading tools and applicable shop safety procedures. Always ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle or tap wrench is properly aligned before beginning the threading operation. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve thread quality. For CNC tapping, verify spindle speed and feed rate are set per the tool manufacturer guidelines for the specific material being threaded.
