The EMUGE 3440L.17505A is a tapered ball end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from solid carbide and coated with an AlCr (aluminum chromium) finish, this tool delivers hardness and thermal resistance across a range of workpiece materials. It features 3 spiral flutes with a right-hand flute direction and a 45-degree helix angle, producing efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The 17.5-degree taper angle per side combined with a 0.50 mm nose radius makes it well suited for contouring, profiling, and finishing passes in tight-geometry applications. Overall length is 57.00 mm with a 6.00 mm shank diameter.
This tapered ball end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers handling cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and superalloys, corresponding to workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S. The 3.26 mm mill diameter and 8.00 mm length of cut make it appropriate for fine detail work, mold and die cavities, and complex contoured surfaces where taper clearance is required. The h6 shank diameter tolerance ensures a precise, consistent fit in standard toolholders. This tool is used by machinists and tooling technicians working in precision job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and mold-making environments.
Designed for use with workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S (cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and superalloys) as specified by EMUGE Series 3440L application guidelines. Compatible with standard 6.00 mm toolholders meeting h6 shank tolerance requirements.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all power is isolated before inserting or removing the tool. Verify toolholder runout and clamping torque meet the toolholder manufacturer specifications before starting a cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rates for the workpiece material - refer to EMUGE Series 3440L application data for cutting parameters.
