The ELKHART PRODUCTS WPT-48-32-24 is a wrot copper reducing tee designed for solder-joint (sweat) copper piping systems. Sized at 3 inches by 2 inches by 1-1/2 inches with a C x C x C connection pattern, it allows a branch takeoff with a reduced diameter run-out in a single fitting. Wrot copper construction delivers consistent wall thickness and reliable pressure integrity, making it well suited for hydronic heating, domestic water distribution, and commercial plumbing roughing. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This reducing tee is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems where a main copper line must be reduced in diameter at a branch point. Common applications include water supply mains, radiant heating headers, and recirculation loops where a 3-inch run transitions to a 2-inch continuation while feeding a 1-1/2-inch branch. The all-solder connection type makes it compatible with standard copper tube in the corresponding nominal sizes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for standard solder-type wrot copper piping systems in the nominal 3 inches x 2 inches x 1-1/2 inches reducing tee configuration.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water system and drain the affected lines before cutting or fitting any copper pipe. Clean pipe ends and fitting cups thoroughly with emery cloth or pipe-prep brushing tools, apply appropriate flux, and solder all three joints with lead-free solder per code. Never apply heat to a joint that is not fully dry, as residual moisture will prevent a sound solder connection.
