The ELKHART PRODUCTS H055300 is a wrot copper 90-degree elbow rated for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) applications. It features a C x C (cup-by-cup) solder connection on both ends at 1-1/2 inches, making it a standard-fit fitting for gravity-flow drain lines. Wrot copper construction means the fitting is formed from wrought copper, giving it a consistent wall thickness and reliable joint integrity. At 0.285 pounds, it is lightweight and easy to handle in tight spaces. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically specify this fitting for residential and light commercial DWV rough-in work where copper is the required or preferred material.
This elbow is used in copper DWV piping systems to make a 90-degree directional change in drain or vent lines. Typical applications include bathroom sink drains, bathtub drain stacks, laundry standpipes, and vent runs where a sharp turn is needed. It is suited for both residential new construction and renovation work. The 1-1/2-inch size is a common dimension for lavatory drain lines and P-trap outlets, making this one of the most frequently installed DWV fittings in standard plumbing rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2-inch copper DWV piping systems using solder-joint connections per standard plumbing practice.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local code. Shut off the water supply and ensure the line is fully drained before cutting into an existing DWV system. Clean and flux both the fitting cups and pipe ends before soldering, and allow joints to cool completely before pressure-testing or backfilling. Do not use this DWV-rated fitting in pressurized supply lines.
