The ELKHART PRODUCTS 45ELL-1 is a 1-inch copper 45-degree elbow fitting designed for solder-joint (sweat) connections in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Part of the KLEENFIT product line, this fitting ships cleaned and bagged to maintain the interior surfaces free of oxidation and contaminants, reducing prep time at the job site. The cup-by-cup (C x C) connection accepts standard 1-inch copper tubing on both ends. At 0.137 pounds, it is a lightweight component suited for tight-space installations where a change of direction is needed without a full 90-degree turn.
This elbow is appropriate for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and general copper plumbing applications. The 45-degree offset is commonly used when routing around obstructions or making angled transitions between runs. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction, remodel work, or repair of existing copper systems. The KLEENFIT cleaning and bagging process is especially useful in high-purity or medical-gas-adjacent applications where cleanliness of the joint surface is a code or specification requirement.
Designed as an OEM-style solder fitting for standard 1-inch copper tubing systems in residential and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into existing piping. Clean tubing ends and fitting cups with emery cloth or a pipe cleaning tool, apply flux, and solder using lead-free solder where required by code. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring pressure to the system.
