The ELKAY SS8230LR4 is a floor-mounted double compartment scullery sink built for heavy-duty use in commercial and institutional kitchens. Fabricated from 14-gauge Type 304 stainless steel, it delivers long-term resistance to corrosion, impact, and the rigors of continuous foodservice operation. The sink features two 15-inch by 24-inch bowls, each 14 inches deep, giving crews ample room for washing large pots, sheet pans, and prep equipment. A channel rim design with a 2-inch apron runs the perimeter to minimize liquid spillover. An 8-inch full-length backsplash with a 45-degree slope discourages grime accumulation. The polished satin finish is easy to clean and maintains a professional appearance in high-traffic environments.
This sink is intended for commercial kitchens, school cafeterias, healthcare foodservice facilities, and similar high-volume environments where a dedicated scullery station is required. The integrated drainboard supports efficient pot-washing workflow by providing a pitched drying surface adjacent to the wash compartments. Both the drainboard and bowl floors are pitched to direct water toward the drains, eliminating pooling. Each bowl is centered with a standard 3.5-inch drain opening. Adjustable stainless steel legs allow leveling on uneven floors. The sink is ADA-compliant, supporting accessible workspace configurations where required by code.
Designed as an OEM-style floor-mounted scullery sink suitable for commercial foodservice, institutional, and industrial kitchen installations requiring a double-compartment configuration with integrated drainboard.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and confirm floor drain positioning before setting the sink. Leg height should be adjusted and leveled prior to making drain connections. Verify local health department and ADA requirements for sink height and clearance before finalizing the installation.
