The ELKAY RESIDENTIAL LR1722PD1 is a drop-in, single bowl kitchen sink constructed from 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with a lustrous brushed finish. Measuring 17 inches by 22 inches by 7.625 inches overall, it features a rectangular bowl with interior dimensions of 13.5 inches in length, 16 inches in width, and 7.5 inches in depth. The sink ships with the LKPD1 Perfect Drain and strainer, an edgeless drain design that eliminates the gap between bowl floor and drain collar so food and debris flush away cleanly without lodging in crevices. Straight sidewalls and a flat bottom maximize usable bowl volume. Sound-deadening pads bonded to the underside reduce vibration and noise during use. Licensed plumbers and experienced kitchen installers are the typical trade handling this fixture.
The LR1722PD1 suits residential kitchens, prep stations, laundry rooms, and light-duty commercial settings. The drop-in configuration allows installation into virtually any countertop material with a field-cut opening. A minimum cabinet width of 21 inches is required to accommodate the sink body. The sink is rated for countertop thickness up to 0.75 inches. The repairable 18-gauge stainless finish allows light surface scratches to blend in with normal use over time, reducing the appearance of wear in active work areas.
Designed for drop-in installation into countertops up to 0.75 inches thick. Requires a minimum cabinet width of 21 inches. Compatible with standard single-hole faucet configurations where the countertop is drilled separately by the installer.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable local plumbing code and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and drain the existing supply lines before removing any existing sink. A jigsaw or oscillating tool is used to cut the countertop opening to the template dimensions provided by the manufacturer. Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant around the underside rim before setting the sink and securing mounting clips from below - do not overtighten clips on laminate or solid-surface countertops to avoid surface cracking.
