The ELKAY RESIDENTIAL CR31220 is a single bowl drop-in kitchen sink constructed from 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel. It measures 31 inches in length, 22 inches in width, and 6-7/8 inches in depth overall, with a usable bowl interior of 28 inches by 15.75 inches and a 6.75-inch bowl depth. The center drain opening measures 3.5 inches and is compatible with standard garbage disposals. A U-channel mounting system supports installation into countertops up to 3/4 inches thick. Bottom-only sound-deadening pads reduce vibration and noise during use. This sink is installed by licensed plumbers or experienced remodeling contractors in residential kitchen applications.
The CR31220 is designed for drop-in installation in residential kitchen countertops requiring a minimum base cabinet width of 36 inches. The single bowl layout provides an uninterrupted workspace suitable for dishwashing, food prep, and general kitchen tasks. The polished stainless steel finish is resistant to corrosion and integrates with a wide range of countertop materials including laminate, granite, and solid surface. This model is appropriate for new construction and kitchen remodeling projects where a standard drop-in configuration is specified.
Designed as a drop-in replacement or new-installation sink for residential kitchens with a minimum 36-inch base cabinet. Compatible with standard 3.5-inch drain assemblies and garbage disposal flanges. Fits countertops up to 3/4 inches thick using the included U-channel hardware.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and disconnect existing drain lines and supply connections before removing any existing sink. Apply a continuous bead of plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the underside of the sink rim before setting it into the cutout, then secure with the provided mounting hardware. Do not overtighten mounting clips, as excessive clamping force can distort the rim or crack the countertop material.
