Elkay LK397C Knee Action Valve Wall Mount Chrome

Product Description

The ELKAY LK397C is a knee-operated wall-mount faucet valve designed for hands-free water control in demanding plumbing environments. The valve accepts 1/2 inch female IPS inlets and delivers flow through a 3/8 inch IPS spout outlet. Chrome plating provides corrosion resistance and a clean finished appearance. The kit ships complete with two stops, two valves, two wall flanges, and an enameled iron wall bracket, giving the installer everything needed for a full rough-in without sourcing additional hardware. Licensed plumbers and facilities maintenance technicians are the primary installers for this type of fitting.

The LK397C is suited for wall-mounted plumbing applications in healthcare facilities, foodservice kitchens, commercial bathrooms, school classrooms, and laundry rooms where hands-free or reduced-contact operation is a priority. Knee actuation keeps hands away from the valve body during operation, which aligns with sanitation requirements common in food prep and clinical wash stations. The valve works in both residential and light commercial installations where a standard 1/2 inch IPS supply connection is present.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the supply lines before beginning any work. Use appropriate thread sealant on all IPS connections and verify there are no leaks under full pressure before returning the fixture to service. Do not overtighten the wall bracket fasteners into the finished wall surface without confirming adequate backing or blocking is present.
