The ELECTRO HARDWARE MP405M06F16M2.5 is a female hex circuit board standoff machined from aluminum with a plain, bright uncoated finish. It accepts an M2.5 x 0.45 metric thread on the female end and is fully threaded through its entire 3 mm overall length. The hex body measures 4.5 mm across flats, allowing a standard wrench or driver to seat the standoff securely to a PCB or chassis. At a weight of approximately 0.001 pounds, it adds negligible mass to the assembly. This fastener meets QQ-A-225A Comp 2 material standards and carries a T3 material grade designation. It is typically installed by electronics assembly technicians, PCB layout engineers, or field service personnel working on control board assemblies.
This standoff is suited for metric PCB mounting applications where a threaded female receiver is needed to accept a screw from a mating board, panel, or enclosure cover. It is commonly used in control board assemblies found in HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, pool automation panels, and light industrial electronics. The compact 3 mm body length makes it appropriate for low-profile stacking applications where minimal board-to-board or board-to-chassis clearance is required. Length tolerance is -0.13 to 0.13 mm, supporting consistent stack height across multi-standoff layouts.
Designed as an OEM-style metric standoff for circuit board and chassis mounting applications requiring an M2.5 x 0.45 female threaded hex fastener.
Installation is performed by electronics or electromechanical assembly technicians using a wrench or hex driver sized to 4.5 mm across flats. De-energize and discharge all power from the board assembly before handling PCBs or installing standoffs. Avoid over-torquing aluminum standoffs, as the material is softer than steel and the threads can strip if excessive force is applied. Follow applicable assembly documentation for torque and stack-height requirements specific to the host circuit board.
