The ELECTRO HARDWARE 1459M12F21-440 is a male-female hex circuit board standoff designed to space and support printed circuit boards in electronic assemblies. The standoff features a 4-40 unified thread, with a male threaded post on one end and a female threaded bore on the other, allowing boards to be stacked or mounted at a fixed separation. The overall length is 1.4375 inches (1-7/16 inches), with a hex body length of 1.25 inches and a 0.25-inch width across flats. Constructed from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish meeting ASTM B633 Type 1 and QQ-S-633 standards, it provides corrosion resistance suited to indoor electronics enclosures. Licensed technicians and electronics assemblers install these during panel builds and PCB mounting operations.
This standoff is used in residential and commercial electronic panel assemblies, control board mounting applications, and industrial enclosures where reliable PCB spacing and structural support are required. Typical applications include HVAC control board installations, electrical panel assemblies, and general electronics manufacturing where a secure, repeatable standoff height is needed. The male-female configuration allows daisy-chaining multiple standoffs for adjustable board stack heights.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation standoff for circuit board assemblies using 4-40 imperial thread fasteners in hex standoff configurations.
Installation is performed by electronics assemblers, electricians, or HVAC technicians during control board mounting. De-energize all circuits before handling circuit boards or installing standoffs in live panels. A standard hex driver or nut driver sized for 1/4-inch across-flats hex fasteners is required. Avoid overtightening, as excessive torque on small-diameter 4-40 threads can strip the female bore or damage the PCB mounting hole.
