The ELECTRO HARDWARE 1308M12F21440 is a male-female hex circuit board standoff designed to create fixed spacing between PCBs, chassis, and mounting surfaces in electronic assemblies. It features a 4-40 unified coarse thread with a male thread on one end and a female threaded bore on the other, allowing boards to be stacked or secured in a single pass. The hex body measures 3/16 inches across flats and has an overall body length of 11/32 inches (0.3438 inches). Finished in zinc plating to ASTM B633 Type 1 and QQ-S-633 standards, it provides corrosion resistance suitable for indoor electronic enclosures. Installation is performed by electronics technicians, HVAC controls specialists, and panel builders working with control boards and low-voltage assemblies.
This standoff is used in residential and commercial applications wherever PCBs require mechanical separation and secure mounting. Typical installations include HVAC control boards, electrical panel assemblies, industrial enclosures, and custom electronics chassis builds. The male-female configuration allows standoffs to be threaded together in series for increased stack height or used as a single spacer between a board and a metal or plastic mounting surface. Length tolerance is held to plus or minus 0.005 inches for consistent, repeatable board clearance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build fastener for any application requiring a 4-40 threaded male-female hex standoff with a 3/16 inch hex body in steel with zinc finish.
Installation is typically performed by electronics technicians or controls specialists using a nut driver or small wrench sized to the 3/16 inch hex body. Power down and de-energize all circuits before working on or near any control board assembly. Avoid over-torquing the standoff into threaded inserts or PCB mounting holes, as excess torque can crack board substrates or strip 4-40 threads. Follow applicable assembly drawings and any relevant IPC standards for PCB hardware installation.
