The ECM INDUSTRIES LLC AMT-5126 is a solder heat shrink butt splice connector designed for joining 12 to 10 AWG wire in a single, reliable connection. Each connector combines a solder ring and a heat shrink sleeve, allowing a technician to create a waterproof, mechanically sound splice using only a heat source. The result is a gas-tight bond that resists vibration, moisture, and corrosion. This connector is UL Listed, confirming it meets standard electrical safety requirements. It is sold in a 4-pack clam shell package, making it a practical addition to any service kit.
This connector is used wherever a durable, moisture-resistant wire splice is needed in residential or light commercial electrical, HVAC control wiring, or similar low-voltage and line-voltage applications. It is well suited for repair work in environments where open butt splice connectors would be exposed to condensation, engine compartment heat, or outdoor conditions. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and marine or automotive service professionals commonly use solder heat shrink connectors when a standard crimp splice is not sufficient for the environment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service-grade splice connector for 12 to 10 AWG wire applications requiring a solder and heat shrink termination.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified HVAC technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize the circuit completely before stripping and inserting conductors. Apply a heat gun evenly along the sleeve until the solder flows and the shrink tubing seals fully — do not use an open flame, as it can scorch the sleeve unevenly. Inspect the finished splice for full shrink and visible solder flow before restoring power.
