The ECLIPSE E824 is a Grade 5 Alnico button magnet designed for holding, latching, and retrieval applications where a compact, high-pull permanent magnet is required. Constructed from Alnico 5 material, it delivers a maximum pull force of 10.6 pounds (4.8 kg) from a 1.25-inch diameter body that stands 1 inch tall. A centered 9/32-inch through-hole allows the magnet to be mounted to fixtures, jigs, or assemblies with a fastener. The E824 is rated for continuous operation at temperatures up to 550 degrees C, making it suitable for high-heat environments where polymer-bonded or ferrite magnets would fail. Electricians, HVAC technicians, machinists, and fixture builders are the typical installers.
The E824 is used in residential and commercial applications including sensor mounting, holding fixtures, magnetic catches, and proximity-triggered mechanisms. Its button form factor and through-hole mounting suit panel assembly, tooling boards, and any installation where a flush-mount or fastened permanent magnet is needed. The 1/2-inch gap width specification is relevant when calculating effective pull force across an air gap in a given assembly. No external power source is required — the Alnico 5 alloy provides a stable, self-contained magnetic field.

Install and handle with care — Alnico magnets are brittle and can chip or crack if dropped or allowed to snap together forcefully. Power down or de-energize any adjacent electrical components before positioning the magnet near sensitive circuitry or ferrous hardware. Use a fastener sized for the 9/32-inch through-hole to secure the magnet to its mounting surface; do not rely on pull force alone to hold the magnet in position under vibration. Demagnetization can occur if the magnet is exposed to strong opposing magnetic fields, so store and install away from other high-strength magnets.
