The EATON FAZ-D4/2 is a current limiting miniature circuit breaker designed for overcurrent and short-circuit protection in electrical distribution systems. Built to the D-curve tripping characteristic, the FAZ-D4/2 is suited for loads that draw high inrush currents at startup, such as motors, solenoids, and transformer-fed circuits. The 2-pole configuration allows it to protect two-wire branch circuits simultaneously. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of device in panelboards, control panels, and industrial enclosures where reliable, fast-acting protection is required.
The FAZ-D4/2 is applicable in both light commercial and industrial electrical installations. It fits into compact DIN rail-mounted control panels and distribution boards where space efficiency and consistent performance under fault conditions are priorities. Its current limiting action reduces the let-through energy during a fault event, helping protect downstream components and wiring.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature circuit breaker for use in DIN rail-mounted panelboards, industrial control panels, and electrical distribution enclosures requiring D-curve overcurrent protection.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the panel and verify absence of voltage before handling or installing the breaker. Ensure the breaker rating matches the conductor ampacity and load requirements before energizing. Do not bypass or modify the device.
