The EATON CUTLER-HAMMER E49S71UP7 is a general purpose limit switch designed for industrial position-sensing and machine control applications. It features a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) contact configuration with a normally closed (NC) contact form and a side-mounted roller lever actuator. The body is constructed from polyamide for durability in demanding environments. Rated for operation from -22 degrees F to 176 degrees F and carrying an IP65 ingress protection rating, this switch handles exposure to dust and water jets without compromising reliability. Screw terminals and side screw mounting simplify field installation and wiring.
This limit switch is suited for conveyor systems, automated machinery, door and gate position detection, and similar industrial or commercial control circuits. It is typically installed by licensed electricians or qualified industrial maintenance technicians. The roller lever actuator on the side of the body makes it well suited for applications where the actuating object approaches from a lateral direction. Its compact footprint, measuring 1.22 inches wide and 1.20 inches deep, allows it to fit in tight machine enclosures and control panels.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation general purpose limit switch for industrial control and automation systems requiring SPDT NC side roller lever actuation with screw terminal wiring.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified industrial maintenance technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and equipment manufacturer guidelines. De-energize the control circuit and lock out or tag out the machine before mounting or wiring the switch. Use appropriately rated conductors for the 500-volt rating of this switch, and ensure the mounting surface is rigid enough to maintain consistent actuator engagement during machine operation.
