The EATON CUTLER-HAMMER E49S71AP7 is a general purpose limit switch with a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) contact form and a normally closed (NC) contact configuration. It uses a roller lever actuator mounted on the side of the body and connects via screw terminals on a screw mount base. Built with a polyamide body and rated IP65 for dust-tight and water-jet protection, this switch is suited for demanding industrial and commercial control applications. The operating temperature range runs from -22 degrees F to 176 degrees F, making it viable across a wide range of environments. Electricians and industrial control technicians are the primary installers.
This limit switch is used in machine control, conveyor systems, door position sensing, and other electromechanical applications where a physical actuator triggers a control circuit. The roller lever actuator on the side allows for reliable contact with moving machinery components. Its NEMA ratings of 4, 4X, 6P, and 13 make it appropriate for both indoor and outdoor installations where moisture, dust, or hose-directed water may be present. It is a standard panel or surface screw-mount device compatible with low-voltage control wiring in industrial automation and HVAC equipment control panels.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install general purpose limit switch for industrial control, machine automation, and electromechanical systems requiring SPDT switching with a side roller lever actuator and screw terminal connections.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and local codes. De-energize all control circuits and lock out the power source before mounting or wiring the switch. Screw terminals must be tightened securely to prevent loose connections under vibration. Verify that the roller lever actuator aligns properly with the actuating mechanism before returning the circuit to service.
