The EATON cpr25 is a threadless compression conduit coupling designed for use with IMC and metallic rigid conduit systems. Manufactured from malleable iron with a zinc-plated finish, this coupling provides a secure, corrosion-resistant mechanical connection without requiring threaded conduit ends. At 1-1/2 inch trade size, it is a workhorse fitting for commercial and industrial electrical installations where conduit must be joined quickly and reliably. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of raceway systems that protect conductors in demanding environments.
This coupling is suited for 1-1/2 inch trade size IMC and metallic rigid conduit runs in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings. Compression-style couplings are commonly used where threading conduit in the field is impractical or where a faster mechanical connection is preferred. The zinc-plated malleable iron construction holds up in indoor and covered outdoor raceway applications, making it a standard choice for branch circuit and feeder conduit work.
Designed for use with 1-1/2 inch trade size IMC and metallic rigid conduit.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 344 (Rigid Metal Conduit) or Article 342 (Intermediate Metal Conduit) as applicable. De-energize all circuits in the affected raceway before making conduit connections. Ensure conduit ends are clean, deburred, and properly aligned before tightening the compression fitting to the manufacturer-recommended feel. Do not overtighten, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive force.
