The EATON ch-chf120 is a single-pole, 20-amp plug-on circuit breaker rated for 120/240 VAC service. It features arc-fault circuit interruption (AFCI) in the CHF Standard configuration, with a 10 kA interrupt rating and mechanical trip mechanism. The breaker occupies one 3/4-inch space in a compatible load center. It accepts 14 to 8 AWG copper or aluminum wire on a single conductor, or 14 to 10 AWG on two conductors. Licensed electricians install this breaker during new construction, panel upgrades, or service replacements where AFCI protection is required by the NEC.
This breaker is designed for residential and light commercial electrical distribution panels. It is used in branch circuit applications where arc-fault protection is mandated, including bedroom circuits, living areas, and other locations specified under NEC AFCI requirements. The plug-on mount design allows direct installation into CH-type load centers without additional hardware. It operates across a wire temperature rating of 60 to 75 degrees C, making it suitable for standard branch circuit wiring found in typical residential construction.
Designed for use in CH-type load centers. Requires one 3/4-inch panel space. Not intended for use in load centers outside the CH-type designation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize the panel and verify absence of voltage before handling any breaker or wiring. Ensure conductor size and material match the breaker's listed wire range before terminating. AFCI breakers may require the neutral conductor to be connected directly to the breaker's neutral terminal — confirm with the breaker wiring diagram and local inspection authority.
