The EATON BP/SA-20 is a plug-rejection Fustat fuse adapter designed for use in standard Edison-base plug fuse holders. It converts an existing Edison-base fuse socket to accept S-type (Fustat) fuses, which feature a rejection design that prevents oversized fuses from being installed in the socket. Once locked into the fuse holder, the adapter stays in place and cannot be removed without tools, ensuring the circuit remains protected at the correct amperage rating. This pack includes three adapters, making it suitable for multi-circuit panelboards or service calls requiring several conversions at once. Electricians use this adapter when upgrading older residential or light commercial fuse panels to improve overcurrent protection integrity.
The BP/SA-20 adapter is used in single motor circuits and general-purpose branch circuits that use plug fuse panels with Edison-base sockets. It is commonly installed in older residential panels, detached garages, outbuildings, and light commercial applications where plug fuses remain in service. The adapter accepts Fustat fuses in place of standard plug fuses, and the rejection feature of the S-type base prevents substitution with a higher-amperage fuse after installation.
Designed for use with standard Edison-base plug fuse holders. Accepts S-type Fustat fuses. Intended for single motor circuits and general-purpose plug fuse panel applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. Always shut off power to the fuse panel at the main disconnect before handling any fuse holders or inserting adapters. Once the adapter is seated in the Edison-base socket, it is designed to remain permanently in place. Do not attempt to remove the adapter after installation, as it is a one-time-fit device intended to enforce fuse rejection going forward.
