The EATON 05706B-104 is a male rigid barbed hose fitting machined from brass, designed to create a secure threaded-to-hose connection in fluid transfer and hydraulic plumbing applications. It features a 1/4 inch NPTF male thread on the rigid end and a 3/8 inch barbed shank sized for 3/8 inch inside diameter hose. The NPTF thread form produces a pressure-tight seal through thread interference, reducing dependence on sealant tape in many installations. Overall length is 1.47 inches and the hex head measures 0.56 inches across flats for standard wrench engagement. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial pipefitters install this type of fitting where a hose assembly must terminate at a threaded port.
This fitting is suited for low-to-medium pressure fluid lines in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC equipment, pneumatic tool lines, and general industrial hose assemblies. The brass construction resists corrosion in water, air, and many non-aggressive fluid media, making it a common choice for chilled water, compressed air, and hydronic heating circuits where 3/8 inch hose is routed to a 1/4 inch NPTF port. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for fluid transfer systems using 3/8 inch inside diameter hose terminating at a 1/4 inch NPTF threaded port.
Depressurize and drain the hose assembly or fluid circuit completely before removing or installing any fitting. NPTF threads are designed to seal on the thread form; apply thread sealant or tape only as required by the system manufacturer or applicable plumbing code. Tighten with a wrench on the hex head — do not grip the barb shank. Follow IPC or applicable local plumbing codes for pressure ratings and fluid compatibility when specifying this fitting in potable water or pressurized systems.
