The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL D250-026-I is a high-speed steel (HSS) twist drill bit ground to a 135-degree split point geometry. The split point tip reduces walking on contact, allowing the bit to bite into the workpiece without a center punch in most applications. At 13/32 inch in diameter, this bit is sized for common bolt clearance, dowel, and through-hole work across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is a standard item in the toolboxes of electricians, plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and general fabricators who drill through structural steel, iron pipe, aluminum, and similar stock.
The D250-026-I is suited for use in hand-held power drills and drill presses in both residential and commercial trade applications. The 135-degree split point makes it particularly effective in harder materials such as stainless steel and structural steel plate where a conventional 118-degree point tends to skate. It is part of the EAGLE CUTTING TOOL Dyno range, which is produced to general-purpose import-grade tolerances appropriate for production drilling and everyday service work.
Designed as a general-purpose HSS twist drill bit compatible with any 3-jaw drill chuck sized to accept a 13/32 inch shank, including hand-held power drills and bench-top drill presses.
HSS drill bits should be operated at appropriate speeds for the material being drilled — reduce RPM for harder ferrous materials and increase RPM for softer non-ferrous stock. Always secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and use cutting fluid when drilling steel to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before use; a dull or chipped split point will generate excess heat and produce an oversized hole. Worn bits should be resharpened or replaced rather than forced through material.
