The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL CHD-4375-14-I is a carbon hex rethread die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original 7/16-14NC specification. Built in a standard hex profile, this die seats into a common die stock or wrench, allowing a technician to chase and clean threads on bolts, studs, and threaded rod without full thread removal. It is a practical shop and field tool for HVAC mechanics, plumbers, electricians, and general maintenance trades who encounter thread damage on fasteners during equipment service or installation.
This rethread die is suited for use on 7/16-inch diameter fasteners with a 14 threads-per-inch coarse pitch, conforming to the NC (National Coarse) thread standard. It fits typical repair scenarios including corroded mounting hardware on HVAC equipment, pipe supports, electrical panel studs, and mechanical fasteners throughout residential and light commercial applications. The hex body design allows use with a standard die wrench or an open-end wrench in tight spaces where a full round die stock may not fit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement-style rethread die for restoring 7/16-14NC National Coarse external threads on standard bolts, studs, and threaded rod used across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical applications.
Thread chasing and rethreading should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with thread standards and cutting tool use. De-energize or shut off any associated equipment before working on fasteners in service. Apply a suitable cutting fluid to the die and fastener before running the die to reduce heat and extend tool life. Do not force the die past resistance, as this may cause additional thread damage or tool breakage.
