The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL CB-SL-6-D is a tapered carbide rotary burr designed for material removal, deburring, shaping, and surface finishing in metalworking and fabrication applications. This SL-6 style burr features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter and a 14-degree taper angle, with both single cut and double cut geometry available in this configuration. Single cut fluting produces a smoother finish with longer chip loads, while double cut fluting removes material faster and reduces chatter. At 0.13 pounds, it is a lightweight tool suited for use in die grinders and rotary tools across a wide range of shop and field environments.
This burr is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and industrial manufacturing settings. Typical applications include weld preparation, port matching, chamfering, and contouring on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 14-degree taper geometry makes it well suited for working in angled cavities, mold work, and areas where a straight cylindrical burr cannot reach. It is commonly used by machinists, pipefitters, welders, and general fabricators.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use carbide burr compatible with standard die grinders and rotary tools accepting the appropriate shank diameter for SL-6 series tapered burrs.
Installation of rotary burrs should be performed by a qualified machinist or fabricator following the tool manufacturer's RPM guidelines for the specific burr diameter and material being worked. Ensure the die grinder or rotary tool is powered off and unplugged before inserting or removing the burr from the collet. Always wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when operating rotary cutting tools. Do not exceed the rated RPM for the burr diameter.
